Walnut, high-gloss varnish, and composition metal.
The Noah white high-gloss console table is inspired by the legend of the giant ship. “Of all clean beasts thou shalt take to thee by sevens, a male and its female; but of the beasts that are not clean two, a male and its female”. The biblical narrative of Noah’s Ark can be seen as a story about symmetry. Symmetry is a key feature of the Noah modern console design by Ekaterina Elizarova.
Noah is a modern living room table crafted from fine wood. The walnut veneer is polished with high-gloss varnish, which further adds to the streamlining of the form. Crafting Noah includes six stages of varnishing, polishing and surfacing. The slab of composition metal divides the white high-gloss console into two equal parts, creating perfect symmetry. The Noah’s streamlined design is an unmistakable reference to a watercraft — a fantasy about what the fabulous biblical vessel might have looked like.
The Noah white console table is a special series item limited to six original copies made in Italy. It was first showcased at 100% Design, the cornerstone event of the London Design Festival, in 2014. A year after this the original living room table was acquired at Tajan auction in Paris. Later on, the item won the Design and Design award.
